Love the sushi/other food boat at the bar. The chef behind the bar was very nice and made sure I was happy. The other servers were equally as helpful. The sushi was good, priced well and lots of options!
Service was slow, but that's because they only had 1 waiter there. Sushi was passable, but the flavors were not well balanced and nothing really stood out. Honestly pretty disappointing experience here.
I like the place it’s nice and clean and prices are decent. I order from there every chance I get.
Food here is pretty good. Pretty neat to see the boats going around with the sushi. Our favorites are the bento boxes.
The conveyor belt being boats is cute. The small play corner is great for toddlers. The variety on the belt could be a bit more impressive which makes it a 4 instead of a 5 for a fast-food sushi place.
We waited a long time for our table as well as for our menus. After we ordered, the food took an even longer time to come. We asked for straws and she threw down unwrapped straws with her bare-hand onto the dirty table. The waiters were all indifferent to what we were saying and had us waiting 10 minutes more for our ginger. My STRICTLY vegetarian friend ordered something and asked the waiter multiple times to ensure it was vegetarian. She was horrified to find a piece of meat hanging on her supposed, VEGETARIAN sushi roll. The only thing saving this review was the food.
Generally, this is a good sushi restaurant for families, especially if you’re looking for quick service, decent food and fairly broad standard menu. We come here often, and have not been disappointed. There is a small play area for when the kids are finished early. My only (minor) complaint is that I drink hot tea, and usually only get a refill if I flag down the server to ask for them. Proviso: I can’t comment on the quality of the sushi/sashimi since I refuse to eat raw fish for health reasons. But visually it seems on par with other places, and no friends have complained.
This is a really uneven place. The sushi is terrific on the boats one time and then the selection sucks another day. Ordering off the menu tends to be better. Service is generally slow and not proactive. There are little booths available for non boat sushi meals. You pay by the color of the plates you take off the boats to eat.Today’s visit was an example of a good day there instead of my first review. The chef wasn’t that busy and said we should try the cooked salmon he just did and a couple others. All were great. The service was the usual not all that good. Had to ask for water and the bill.
Price is very good with huge amount especially the lunch bento. But they need to work on the freshness of sashimi.
Best hand rolls ive had to be honest! It's not overly complicated, just fresh fish, fresh roasted seaweed (which is delicious and sets it apart from other places), rolled in front of you and eaten as soon as its made. It's a concept from Sugarfish, which is already well known for their sushi so its no wonder they know how to appease the palates of their diners. There are no tables, only bar seats, but thats the idea. Get in, eat great handrolls, get out. They can get alot of turnover in and these guys make probably countless rolls a day so they have perfected the process. Definitely one of my favorite places to grab a quick bite to eat at in DTLA
Really great place to eat if you want some great sushi or udon. I went there for my birthday and I did not tell our server that it was my birthday but she noticed that I had a bag that has happy birthday printed on it so she came back with a "birthday roll" for me at no charge and it was so tasty!! It was so nice that I was offered this "delicacy" for me. And on top of this, the food I had which was a bento box was excellent! I had the teriyaki salmon with California rolls and it was great. So in conclusion, if you want to to a place that serves wonderful Japanese food with great service, this is the place to go!! 👍👍
